Telengana employees begins indefinite strike

In Andhra Pradesh, employees in the Telengana region began indefinite strike on the statehood issue on Tuesday. Despite the government’s warning that it will act tough against striking employees, a large number of employees stayed away from duties in Hyderabad and other places in the region.

They held protest demonstrations before office premises and rasta rooks with the demand that centre grant statehood for Telengana region. The advocates also boycotted duties at several places. Coal production in the Singareni collaries was affected due to the strike.

The indefinite strike began under the aegis of Telengana political Joint Action committee and the TRS, the BJP and the TDP and Congress leaders of Telengana region extended support to the agitation.
