Telecom Ministry to set up feedback platform to assess call drops

Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has expressed concern at the burning of schools in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking to media on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today, Mr Naidu said, it is unfortunate that terrorists and separatists have taken to this heinous act of burning schools in the State. He said, it is totally condemnable.<br/><br/>He said, Pakistan is following a suicidal method by promoting terrorism and it will eventually harm the hostile Asian neighbour. Mr Naidu said, Kashmir is an integral part of India and Pakistan should focus on its welfare and development rather than indulging in unwarranted acts. <br/><br/>He said, there are so many problems in the internal front in Pakistan and they are trying to divert the attention to borders and are intentionally raking up the Kashmir issue. In past two months, around 25 schools have been set on fire in the Kashmir Valley.

Telecom Ministry to set up feedback platform to assess call drops

Minister for Communications Manoj Sinha has warned telecom operators of action, including penalty, for call drops, and said his ministry will soon set up a platform to enable consumers to offer direct feedback on call failures. He was talking to media after meeting with the heads of telecom operators in New Delhi yesterday.<br/><br/>Mr Sinha expressed satisfaction at the progress made by companies in installing base stations for improving connectivity but said that while TRAI report indicates an improvement in the overall situation, its circle-wise criteria of measuring call drops does not cover black spots where call failures occur.<br/><br/><br/>He said, the new platform will be ready in the next one month and it will be the right parameter to gauge the situation. On the telecom war between operators over points of interconnect, the Minister said, Government will ensure that the consumers are not effected. He said, Ministry has advised operators to get solution within the regulatory framework.
