In Andhra Pradesh, the bus services were affected on Monday as the employees of State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) in Telangana region joined the ongoing general strike demanding separate statehood. A fleet of 7000 buses were kept off the road due to the strike. Educational Institutions remained closed and the government employees abstained from duties for the 7th consecutive day on Monday.The government is taking several steps in view of the general strike. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has constituted two special teams with higher officials to look after un-interrupted power supply and normal transport services in Telangana.
