In Andhra Pradesh, 53 MLAs belonging to Telangana region have tendered their resignations on Thursday to Assembly speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy protesting against the Centre’s latest announcement over Telangana issue. Speaking to AIR correspondent, the Speaker said, 27 Telugu Desam MLAs, 16 from Congress, 8 from TRS and 2 from BJP have tendered their resignations so far. He also said he has not taken any decision yet on the resignations. <br/>Meanwhile, the 48-hour bandh called by TRS protesting the Centre’s latest announcement was total in Telangana. According to I.G law and Order Anuradha, large number of disturbances was reported during the bandh across Telangana region and the situation is still volatile in Osmania University where violence broke out since Wednesday night. Protests turned violent at several places in the region and police resorted to lathicharge at many places. Stating that substantial number of additional forces is being deployed in Hyderabad and other districts of the Region, the IG said 16 buses were burnt since last night and public and private property at 120 places have been damaged. <br/>Meanwhile, Telangana Rasta Samithi President K Chandrasekhara Rao has announced respite from Bandh tomorrow in view of Christmas festival. AIR correspondent reports that a Joint Action Committee of all parties has also been formed to chalk out day to day strategy to achieve statehood for Telangana. <br/>
