Telangana: Police made high security due to ‘Chalo Assembly’ call by SJAC

In Andhra Pradesh, police have made unprecedented security arrangements in Hyderabad due to ‘Chalo Assembly’ call given by the Student Joint Action Committee and the all party Telangana Joint Action Committee tomorrow on statehood issue.<br/><br/>The proposed agitation has gained significance as the state Budget is being presented tomorrow in the Assembly. Hyderabad police Commissioner A K Khan told media that elaborate arrangements have been made to maintain peace and order in Hyderabad as there was likely disruption to public life following the Chalo Assembly call given by the JACs.<br/><br/>Terming the proposed agitation as illegal, he said prohibitory orders are in force in Hyderabad, the Commissioner said the police are in high state of preparedness to tackle any eventuality. Stating that about 20 thousand police personnel have been deployed in the city, he said 8 IG level officers and 30 DIG level officers are monitoring the security arrangements.<br/><br/>He said, the educational institutions and offices have been advised to take decision depending on the situation on functioning tomorrow. He made a fervent appeal to parents and lecturers not to send their children to the agitation tomorrow and advised people to avoid journey to Hyderabad. Heavy traffic diversions and restrictions have also been imposed on all roads leading to Assembly.
