Telangana plans to vaccinate all persons by end of October

Telangana State is planning to vaccinate all persons by the end of October. State Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar informed this to a high-level meeting held with bankers in Hyderabad that the government has formulated a multi-pronged strategy to vaccinate all persons in the state. He further said, priority has been given to vaccinate high exposure groups in the state. Accordingly, bank officials and banking staff including outsourced employees will be given COVID vaccine during next week. <br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports, as the vaccination drive for high exposure groups is underway in the state, the State Government has assured bankers that all officials, banking staff including outsourced employees will be given vaccination and the exercise will be completed in next one week. <br />''<br />''High exposure groups like media persons, cab and auto drivers besides street vendors who will have high exposure to people are being given COVID vaccine on priority basis across the state. In a related development, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the health officials to set up diagnostic centres in major government hospitals in 19 districts in the state. They will be launched on 7th of this month to make all types of medical services more accessible to the people. <br />''<br />''Meanwhile, the state continued to report high number of daily COVID cases despite the downward trend. The state reported 2,070 fresh COVID cases during the past 24 hours. Recovery rate has been improved to 94.4 per cent following over 3,700 persons recovering from the disease. Eighteen more succumbed to the pandemic since yesterday while the state currently has over 29 thousand two hundred active cases. <br />
