Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar demanded height of Polavaram project in Andhra Pradesh be reduced to save Bhadrachalam town from inundation. The minister said due to the increased height of Polavaram project water levels retained in seven mandals, those transferred to Andhra Pradesh from Telangana in 2014. <br />''<br />''He wanted the Centre to intervene and address the issue to prevent flooding of Bhadrachalam and its surrounding areas in the future. Speaking to newsmen in Hyderabad today, the minister remarked water outflow was slow due to fixing of gates of Polavaram project. He predicted once Polavaram project is completed, water levels at Bhadrachalam will permanently remain at 45.5 ft. He said Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao assured him that he would send a team of experts to suggest measures to be taken on a permanent basis to strengthen the bunds along Godavari River so that temple town is safeguarded.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br />''<br />''<br />
