Telangana :Million protest March turns violent

In Andhra Pradesh, despite tight security arrangements, the Million March protest has been held in Hyderabad today. The protest March held by Telangana Joint Action Committee has turned violent when the agitators attacked Police, Congress leaders and media reporters. Few police vehicles and a media van that was providing live news coverage have been set on fire by the agitators. They have also attacked Congress MPs K Kesava Rao and Madhu Yashki for their alleged failure to resign in support of the statehood for Telangana. The agitators have further damaged and pulled down few statues of legendary personalities which are known as Pride of Telugu Speaking People (Telugu Velugulu). Later the security forces have been called in large numbers and launched police-action before evacuating the Tank Bund where the Million March has been held. Demanding introduction of bill in parliament to carve out Telangana state, the Telangana JAC has held the protest March and most of the political parties supported it.
