In Telangana, Karimnagar District Administration has taken up a Special Drive following spurt in COVID cases that are being reported every day. District Collector R.V. Karnan and Commissioner of Police, V. Satyanarayana informed that the multi-pronged strategy will be implemented to contain the spread of the pandemic in the district. Karimnagar district has been reported daily 60-over 70 fresh COVID cases that is the highest in the state.<br />''<br />''As part of focussed measures, the Administration has decided to strictly enforce COVID protocol and impose fine up to 1,000 rupees to people who do not wear face mask from today onwards. AIR correspondent reports that Karimnagar district has been one among the districts where the spread of disease is under control from the starting of the pandemic. However, for the past few weeks, Karimnagar has been on the top of the list where maximum number of COVID cases are being reported in Telangana, that is between 60-to over 70 daily.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">After detailed analysis about the rising cases, the District Administration has decided to take up a Special Drive to contain the spread of disease today onwards. As part of it, 1,000 rupees will be fined for those who do not wear mask and strict action will be taken against those organisers who violate COVID protocol and conduct functions and meetings. About 50 special teams of Police have been formed to enforce the COVID protocol. These teams will take pictures, impose fine and register cases if they are habitual of not wearing masks. Isolation Centres are being opened where the number of fresh cases is high. Presently, the district has over two thousand 400 active cases which is more than one fourth of the state.</span><br />
