Telangana issue rocks Andhra assembly

The Telangana issue continues to disrupt the proceedings of Andhra Pradesh state Assembly. The Assembly was adjourned for the day today without transacting any business as TRS and TDP legislators from Telangana region stalled the proceedings in the house, demanding it to pass a resolution for tabling Telangana bill in parliament. While, the TRS members rushed to the podium and raised slogans in favour of statehood for Telangana, TDP members registered their protest from their seats. As a result Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar who was in the chair adjourned the house for a short period. When the house re-assmebled after one hour, there was no let up in the situation, leading to its adjournment again. When the house assembled for the second time, the congress members from Telangana region also joined TRS and TDP members and stalled the proceedings by raising slogans. With this, the speaker adjourned the house for the day.Earlier the Legislative affairs minister D.Sridhar Babu appealed in vain to the agitating members to allow the house to continue its business.
