Telangana Issue: Rail Roko agitation continues

In Andhra Pradesh, the 72-hour long rail roko agitation called by Telangana Joint Action Committee is continuing on the second day today amidst tight security. The agitators intensified their stir even as over 130 protestors including one Lok Sabha Member Ponnam Prabhakar have been sent on judicial remand on the charges of violation of Criminal and Railway Acts.TRS MP VijayaShanthi who was sent to judicial remand till 22nd of this month however, got bail from a railway court. Four other Congress MPs and several Legislators who have been charged for participating in Rail Roko agitation have also been released on bail. The agitators continued protest demonstrations while squatting on tracks at several places across the Telangana region.

Meanwhile, the Railway authorities have begun restoring trains to various places.
