Telangana state government has instituted an Award in the name of Babasaheb Dr. B R Ambedkar commemorating his birth anniversary on Friday. <br />''<br />''Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced the award at a public meeting held after unveiling the 125-feet tall bronze statue of Dr B R Ambedkar on the banks of the historic Hussain Sagar Lake. The Chief Minister along with former MP and grandson of Babasaheb, Prakash Ambedkar unveiled the statue. The Chief Minister said, 51 crore rupees corpus will be formed for the award and every year the award worth 3 crore rupees will be given on the birth anniversary of Babasaheb to anyone who contributes for Dalit Welfare.&nbsp;<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Stating that 50 thousand Dalith families have been benefitted in the state so far under Dalith Bandhu programme, the Chief Minister said over one lakh families will be befitted under the programme during the current year.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Prakash Ambedkar said, the real tribute to Babasaheb will be to follow his principles.</span><br />
