In Telangana, several projects have been developed under the Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM) ever since Prime Minister launched the programme four years ago. Central Lighting System and Road Widening projects in Chirrakunta of Kumuram Bheem-Asifabad district of the State attracted national attention for its completion in less than two years and for its public interest. <br />'' <br />'' AIR correspondent reports, local people and public representatives of Chirrakunta, a block headquarters in Asifabad district of Telangana are happy as they got Central Lighting System besides getting widened roads in their tribal cluster with the intervention of Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission. Over 1.5 crore rupees have been spent on this project under the SPMRM. As per the local people, the crime rate came down and their business investments have gone up due to the project. Before the identification of Chirrakunta Rurban Cluster, the block headquarters had bad roads and poor lighting arrangement in the small town. As a result, the local market used to get closed by sunset. Many accidents and crimes used to occur. After getting Central Lighting System and widened roads under the SPMRM, now the local markets are kept open till 10 PM which boosts the local business. The pressure on the local administration also got reduced with the crime rate getting down.<br />''  <br />
