<span style="color: #222222;">In Telangana, the Bowenpally vegetable market in Secunderabad is like any other busy mandi in the country is generating 10 tonnes of waste every day. However, in a unique example of energy conservation and recycling, every bit of waste that is generated is being used for producing 500 units of electricity and 30 kg of biofuel.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the uniqueness of the market in his Mann ki Baat programme on All India Radio today. Boinapally Vegetable Market Yard Chairman T. N. Srinivas thanked the Prime Minister for bringing their efforts to generate bio fuel to limelight and exuded confidence that similar efforts all over the country will be encouraged.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Market Secretary L Srinivas further said, the plant has processed 1400 tonnes of waste material and saved 600 kgs of LPG and generated 32 thousand units of power in environment friendly manner. The energy generated is being used to power over 100 street lights, 170 stalls, and an administrative building besides the water supply network in the area. The biofuel is being used in the market's canteen.</span><br />'' &nbsp;<br />
