The government is expected to table the Telangana Bill in the Lok Sabha today. Official sources, however, said that a final call on introduction of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill will be taken this morning.
The government has already taken the President's nod for the introduction of the Bill in the Lower House after initially planning to table the Bill in Rajya Sabha. Since the separate statehood legislation is a Money Bill, it could not be tabled in Upper House.
Meanwhile, the BJP has offered its support to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the bill. But the party has made it clear that the government should address the concerns of the people of both the proposed states.
