In Andhra Pradesh, bandh passed off peacefully today in Telangana region. The Telangana Joint Action Committee called for the bandh in protest against the arrests of its leaders during Rail Roko agitation in the last two days. The Bandh evoked mixed response in the region as its impact was more visible in the districts than in the state capital, Hyderabad. The state Owned Road Transport Corporation operated a majority of its fleet in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and Khammam district. Buses were confined to depots in Warangal, Nalgonda, Medak and Karimnagar districts. On the other hand, they were partially operated in remaining districts of the region. Educational institutions by and large remained closed while Business establishments were partially operating. Meanwhile, Telangana Teachers association, has announced that they would attend duties from tomorrow. However, some more teachers’ associations are yet to announce their stand on the Strike. The General Strike by Employees, Singareni Workers continued on the 34th day today.
