Tejpal case: Goa police begin evidence collection

The Goa police has started collecting evidence in the alleged rape and molestation case by Tehelka editor Tarun Tejpal.

He has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman colleague and the police will seek to record the statement of Tejpal and the victim besides Tehleka's managing editor Shoma Chaudhury.

The incident allegedly happened a fortnight ago at a hotel near Panaji in Goa.

An FIR has been filed against him by the Goa police.

A joint team of Delhi and Goa police has reached Tehelka office in South Delhi for enquiries.

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has ruled out any political pressure in the investigation in the case.

He said, he is not monitoring the case. The Chief Minister said he has told the police not to be bogged down by any pressure, however important the accused is.

Meanwhile, the Goa police has also started enquiries on the alleged molestation case of a JNU student by a senior official of Directorate of Film Festival.
