Polling to the byelection for Tehri Parliamentary constituency in Uttarakhand ended peacefully at 5 o’ clock Wednesday evening.With this, fate of the 14 candidates in the fray is sealed in the EVMs. Counting of votes will take place on 13th of this month. Much enthusiasm was not seen among the people in the polling and about 42 percent of the voters cast their votes. Main contest is between the congress candidate Saket Bahuguna and the BJP constestant Mala Rajlaxmi Shah.The Tehri Lok Sabha seat became vacant following the resignation of Vijay Bahuguna on his becoming the Chief Minister of the State.
