Teenaged Al Qaida fighter Khadr gets 40-year jail at Guantanamo

An American military jury at Guantanamo Bay has sentenced the former teenaged Al Qaida fighter Omar Khadr to 40 years in prison after finding him guilty of murder and terrorism. But because of the plea bargain, he will only serve eight more years in jail. Omar Khadr was captured in Afghanistan in 2002 at the age of 15 after a fire fight with American special forces. He pleaded guilty to crimes including murder and throwing a grenade that killed an American special forces medic.
