President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday said that technology will play an important role in achieving the target of 5-trillion dollar economy as set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr Kovind was addressing students at an international conference in Pranveer Singh Institute Of Technology, Kanpur. <br />'' <br />'' The President said that apart from giving the country economic might, new forms of knowledge have bettered the lives of people on the margins of society. Mr Kovind was on a day-long visit to his hometown Kanpur.<br />'' <br />'' The President also attended the first alumni meet of Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University (CSM). Speaking at the function he said higher educational institutions should become the centre for innovations and research. <br />'' <br />'' He said the Government's new education policy also advocates making the country a super power of knowledge with the help of research.<br />'' <br />'' The President said the aim of education can only be achieved when it helps in overall development of each section of society. Mr. Kovind also inaugurated the newly established Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vidhi Sansthan of CSM University.<br />'' <br />'' The President, who is himself an alumni of Chhatrapati Sahu ji Maharaj University, donated one lakh 11 thousand rupees to the Endowment fund of the University, which will be used for the betterment of students.&nbsp;<br />'' &nbsp;
