The American technology giant Microsoft has agreed to buy the mobile phone business of the Finnish firm Nokia, in a deal worth 7.2 billion dollars. The transaction is expected to be completed next year. Nokia will also license its patents and mapping services to Microsoft. Under the deal, about 32,000 Nokia employees will transfer to Microsoft. The transaction is subject to approval by Nokia shareholders and regulators.
