Tech based Education in Defence should get importance: AICTE Chairman

Dr Anil Sahasrabuddhe, Chairman All India Council for Technical Education has said that importance should be given to the Education based on Technology in the field of Defence.<br/><br/>He said that we should also think of future technology. He was speaking as a Chief Guest at the Convocation ceremony of 130th National Defence Academy course which was held in Pune today.<br/><br/>Dr. Sahasrabuddhe spoke at length about the importance of military training and congratulated the cadets for undergoing the training with dedication and hard work. He also motivated the cadets to carry forward the professionalism imbibed at the academy in their respective fields.<br/><br/>Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar, Commandant, National Defence Academy announced on this occasion that B.Tec. Course will be started in NDA from Jully 2016. He said that NDA has received required sanctions from JNU and Technical Council for this course.<br/><br/>In today's Convocation a total of 298 cadets were conferred the degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University which included 110 cadets in Science stream, 124 cadets in Computer science stream and 64 cadets in Social science stream. This included 6 foreign cadets.<br/><br/>Cadet Rohit Joshi won the Commandant's Silver Medal and Trophy presented by General K Sundarji, for standing first in Science stream with highest Final Grade Point Average. Cadet V Sangwan got the Commandant's Silver Medal and the Admiral's Trophy presented by Admiral Suresh Mehta for standing first in Computer Science stream. <br/><br/>Cadet Naman Bhatt bagged the Commandant's Silver Medal and the Trophy presented by Air Chief Marshal N C Suri for standing first in Social Science Stream. Cadet Rohit Joshi also bagged the Chief of Naval Staff Trophy presented by Admiral O.S. Dawson for standing first amongst all the three streams.
