Team Anna today announced that they would end their indefinite fast at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, at 5 pm tomorrow. Anna Hazare's announcement on calling off the agitation demanding strong Lokpal Bill followed appeals to end the fast from eminent personalities, including jurist V R Krishna Iyer and former Army Chief Gen V K Singh, as the health of Arvind Kejriwal and two others deteriorated.
Team Anna has also sought public opinion on exploring the possibilities of a political alternative.

Reacting to Team Anna's announcement, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said she was glad they have decided to call of their fast. Talking to reporters Mrs. Soni said it is everyone's right to enter public life and Team Anna should go ahead and contest elections if they wanted to change the system. She said, Anna's call for a political alternative have revealed their political ambitions and it's good that their intentions are out in the open.
