Team Anna ended their nine day long indefinite fast at the Jantar mantar in New Delhi today and have announced to go ahead with the formation of a political party. Former Army chief General VK Singh offered coconut water to the members of Team Anna amidst cheering by supporters.

The Congress party today said that Team Anna's decision to launch a political party was a face saver to end the fast as the issues raised by the activists were completely hollow in substance. Party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters that both the issues at this point in time were completely hollow in substance because the Lokpal is before a Select Committee.
