President Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil invited the victorious Indian team that won the 2011 world cup to Raj Bhavan, Mumbai this evening for a Tea Party on the lawns of Raj Bhavan. The President shook hands with each of the team members dressed in striped T shirts, congratulating them on their stunning victory. The winning team posed for photographs with President Pratibha Patil.Earlier, in her message for the Indian team captain the president had said -that the road to success has been long and hard, you and your team were tested at every stage. Dedication to the cause, the strength of character to stay the course and astute leadership have finally converted the potential of a talented group of youngsters. Mrs Patil said, the experience of veterans and the hard the work of the coach and the staff into the reality of becoming the world champions. She said the entire team truly deserve the thanks of a billions plus Indians today.Among the Dignitaries present at Raj Bhavan were Governor of Maharashtra K. Shankarnarayanan , Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan , ICC president Shard Pawar, Union Minister of Rural Development Vilasrao Deshmukh, Assembly speak Dilip Valase Patil.Earlier, the team posed with the world cup for a special photo shoots at historic Gate way of India, opposite Hotel Taj where team is currently staying.
