The Comptroller and Auditor General of India said that Tea Centers run by Tea Board in different places are hardly contributing to domestic promotion of tea. The CAG in its report which was tabled in Parliament last week, said that between 2008 to 2013 tea board spent more than 11 core rupees for operating seven tea centers and their earnings were marginal. <br/><br/>The report says that Tea Board operation deficit in five years between 2008 to 13 was 7 crore 27 lakh rupees. The CAG report suggested that Tea centers aimed for domestic promotion of tea needs to be reviewed urgently.
