In Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu has been elected leader of the Telugu Desam Legislature party.

His election took place at a meeting of TDP MLAa in Tirupati last evening.

Party leader K E Krishna Murthy proposed Mr Naidu’s name, which was seconded by two MLAs.

The TDP won 102 seats in the 175-member Assembly. Mr Naidu will be sworn-in as Chief Minister on the 8th of this month.
