TDP Chief Naidu, 65 supporters sent to 14 day magisterial custody

The Telugu Desam Party Chief and Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu and his 65 supporters have been sent to 14 day magisterial custody after they refused to seek bail in the Dharmabad court in Maharashtra. <br/><br/>Naidu, was detained yesterday after crossing the Andhra Pradesh border into Maharashtra where the police had banned all sort of gatherings and activities to avoid confrontation between the TDP workers and the members of the Babhali Bachao Action Committee. <br/><br/>They however remained firm on their demand to be allowed to visit Babhali irrigation project. <br/><br/>Since many of the TDP workers fall under the Z plus category and enjoy the VVIP status, the warrants were being prepared accordingly to suit their status, while shifting them to different jails across Maharashtra.<br/><br/>The project situated along the border of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh is the cause of dispute and is pending in the Supreme Court since the last five years. <br/><br/>Reacting to Naidu's stand, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan said it is a political stunt.
