In Andhra Pradesh, protest demonstrations have been launched across the state in view of the bandh call given by Telugu Desam Party against the arrest of its President Chandrababu Naidu. The bandh is underway peacefully so far. Dharna and Rasta Rooko are being held across the state. The left parties, CPI and CPM have also extended support to the bandh. Chandrababu Naidu has taken up indefinite hunger strike last Friday demanding the Government to increase the compensation for farmers who suffered losses due to recent heavy rains in the state.
