In Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has begun a Bus Tour (Bus Yatra) to Babli Project site today protesting the construction of illegal projects across river Godavari by the Maharastra Government. TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu has led the delegation comprising party MPs and MLAs to Babli Project area in Maharashtra to examine the progress of project construction. The height of Babli project gates has become a contentious issue between the two states leading to even legal disputes. Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, Mr. Naidu said the Bus Yatra is aimed at initiating a nation-wide debate against illegal projects by Maharashtra. Despite a call given for all party delegation, only Lok Satta party has sent its representative to the delegation.

Earlier, Chief Minister K Rosaiah has asked the TDP president to call off the tour as an all party delegation is scheduled to meet Prime Minister on the issue next week.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Government has imposed prohibitory orders near the project site and heavy deployment of police forces is seen on the Andhra- Maharashtra boarders.
