TC, Congress legislators’ stage walks out from WB Assembly

In West Bengal, opposition Trinamool Congress and Congress Legislators staged a walked out from the State Assembly today protesting tabling of two amendment bills on land reforms and land acquisition. Raising the issue in the House the Opposition leader, Mr. Partha Chatterjee alleged that the Government has brought two bills with political motivation. Mr. Chatterjee said that the Government has no right to bring such amendment bills and demanded withdrawal of it as it loosing people confidence since last one year. The opposition members came on the well of the house and started slogans and shouting as the Speaker, Mr. Hasim Abdul Halim allowed the concerned Minister to move the bill. Later Legislators of both parties met the Governor, Mr. M. K. Narayanan and urged him not to give his assent on the bills. Replying on the debate on the bills the State Land and Land Reforms Minister, Mr. Abdur Razzak Mollah said that the bills have been brought for the welfare of poor people, farmers and adivasis. Later House adopted the two bills. <br/> <br/>In West Bengal, 18 Gram Nayalayas will be set up in 18 blocks of the state to deliver justice system at the door steps of common people. Giving this information in the State Assembly today the Law and Justice Minister, Mr. Rabilal Maitra said that infrastructure for setting up of Gram Nayalayas in 10 blocks under 10 districts are in place while process are on to identify areas for remaining 8. Mr. Maitra told the House that works for Gram Nayalays will begin by this year.<br/>
