Tauktae cyclone has affected power supply of more than 46 lakh consumers in Maharashtra. Electricity distribution network in 10,752 villages in Maharashtra is disturbed. These villages are from Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Kolhapur and Pune Districts. The State Electricity Department has informed that till evening, electricity supply in more than six thousand villages is restored.<br />''<br />''A total of 46.41 lakh consumers lost power supply due to the cyclone. Thane district is worst-affected with around 7.85 lakh consumers lost power supply. In Raigad district more than 7.73 lakh consumers lost electric supply while in Palghar and Ratnagiri districts power connection of more than five lakh consumers were disturbed. <br />''<br />''Far-flung from Konkan region, in Vidarbha also, more than 53 thousand consumers lost power supply. By the evening, power supply of more than 34 lakh consumers was restored by the state's Power Department. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">To avoid future losses, the State Government is planning underground installation of power supply cables. The State Relief and Rehabilitation Minister has instructed officials to speed up Panchanama and repair the houses damaged by the cyclone. He also asked officials to request the Central Government to provide disaster relief to cyclone-affected peoples.</span><br />
