Union Shipping Minister G K Vasan has said his ministry has met the target of awarding 30 port projects, which entail an investment of over Rs 21,000 crores. This is the best achievement in the history and Ministry has already met the target for 2013-14. Mr. Vasan told this to reporters on Wednesday, on the sidelines of an event to formally award two container project contracts to private parties. He also touched upon the achievements of his ministry. The Minister said during the past four years, his Ministry has awarded 88 new projects requiring an investment of 42,953 crore rupees.
