In Tanzania, at least 240 bodies were retrieved and more than 600 passengers rescued by this morning after a ferry capsized in waters near the popular tourist archipelago of Zanzibar on Saturday. According to national television, twelve South African experts arrived at the scene today to help the rescue. However, the chances of finding any more survivors were slim some 55 hours after the disaster. At present, overload is believed to blame for the tragedy. According to reports, more than 800 people were on board the stricken ferry.
