In Egypt, the court hearing the trial of former president Hosni Mubarak has decided to summon the head of the ruling Supreme Council for the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi to give testimony in a closed session on the 11th of this month.According to Egyptian on line official media Al Ahram, presiding judge Ahmed Refaat also decided that the trial will now be held on a daily basis. Following requests of both the prosecution and defence, the court has also agreed to summon the army chief of staff General Sami Annan and former vice president and longtime intelligence chief Omar Suleiman.Apart from former president and his two sons Alaa and Gamal, former interior minister Habib al-Adli and six senior police officers are also facing trial on charges of corruption and killing peaceful protesters during the January revolution.
