In Egypt, the head of the Supreme Council of Armed Forces Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi testified at the trial of toppled president Hosni Mubarak on Saturday. According to Egypt’s official media Al Ahram, Mubarak, his two sons, former interior minister Habib El-Adly, and six of his assistants are all accused of complicity in the killing of protesters during the Egyptian Revolution. Tantawi is Mubarak’s former defence minister and now heads Egypt’s ruling military council.
