Tamil Nadu: Seven stranded Thoothukudi fishermen rescued

In Tamil Nadu, seven fishermen who were stranded in sea off Thoothukudi coast were rescued today by state Fisheries authorities. The fishermen were struck in mid sea after their fishing boat developed technical snag. <br/><br/>The fishermen from Thoothukudi had ventured out into the sea last Saturday in a fishing boat. They were supposed to return to the shore on Tuesday and as fellow fishermen alerted local authorities. <br/><br/>Search operation was started by local Fisheries authorities and the fishermen were rescued today morning. The motor of the fishing boat developed technical snag and the fishermen were struck in mid sea. <br/><br/>Indian Coast Guard is still searching for four fishermen from Nagapattinam missing in mid Sea. One fisherman saved from sea has been admitted to Nagai government hospital. <br/><br/>Earlier Sri Lankan Navy had apprehended three fishermen from Pudukottai and detained one fishing boat when they were fishing near Delfts island.
