In Tamil Nadu, a new Municipal Corporation has been formed. Avadi, a Chennai suburb, has been announced as the fifteenth municipal corporation in the state. <br />'' <br />'' An ordinance to this effect has been promulgated by the Governor, which will be replaced by a bill to be passed in the state Assembly later. <br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The ordinance says, growing population in Avadi, rising income levels and the increasing demand for more civic services necessitate the upgradation of the municipality into a corporation.</span><br />
