Tamil Nadu: Media personnel to be considered as frontline workers, says M K Stalin

In Tamil Nadu DMK Leader M.K. Stalin has announced that media personnel will be considered as frontline workers.  In his statement today, Stalin told that they would receive their due rights, priorities and concessions as they risk their life amid pandemic, rain and heat. AIR correspondent, as the State is reeling under Covid second wave, where there is a dire need for utmost medical care, the Government has regularised  1212 nurses working on contract basis. The State registered more than twenty thousand fresh cases for the second consecutive day yesterday.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">As a step to curb the spread of the pandemic, the State has extended stricter lock down measures till 20th of this month. In a related development, a defence press release stated two Indian Airforce planes with 35 tonnes of critical life care support equipment including 450 empty oxygen cylinders for India had landed in Chennai this morning from Brize Norton in UK. In political development, newly elected MLAs of the DMK, will hold a meeting at 6 pm today to elect DMK Chief M.K. Stalin as their leader.</span><br />
