Tamil Nadu Government is implementing several mega infrastructural projects to make Chennai a truly global city. Speaking at a seminar on Chennai 2020 organised by CII, today, the Deputy Chief Minister Mr M.K.Stalin said, the city is a major centre for manufacturing industries like Automobiles, Electronics, textiles and leather besides being a leading software hub. Quoting from the reputed US magazine Forbe’s Mr Stalin said it has listed Chennai as one among the 19 urban centre’s in the world which would emerge as a powerhouse. Listing the projects under pipeline to improve connectivity, the deputy chief minister said metro rail project will be completed by 2015 and 11 more flyovers are under various stages of construction. Mr Stalin said, efforts are being taken to establish a Financial, sports and media city in within greater Chennai.
