<span style="color: #222222;">In Tamil Nadu, Income Tax authorities, with the help of election flying squad made searches in the properties of DMK treasurer Duraimurugan in Vellore early this morning. Authorities searched his residence and the college owned by him.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The state Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo clarified that the search was based on information received by the flying squad of the election department.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He added that the income tax officials were called in to carry out the searches as the flying squad has no authority to conduct searches on their own in the premises of individuals.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Duraimurugan's son known as Kadir Anand is the DMK candidate in Vellore Lok Sabha Constituency. Mr Duraimurugan said that those who could not oppose him electorally are resorting to such actions.</span>
