In Tamilnadu, a host of income tax officials swooped down at the residences, offices and farmhouses belonging to Sasikala and her associates in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvarur, Pudukottai and Bengaluru today morning. <br/><br/>Official sources said that the raids were conducted on information of tax evasion by various establishments belonging to the associates of Ms.Sasikala.<br/><br/>The raids gain significance when the Centre has been taking stern action against those who stash black money, benami transactions and investments. <br/><br/>Tax sleuths raided Jaya TV, Namadhu MGR, Jazz cinemas, Midas distilleries and a host of companies belonging to most of Sasikala's family. <br/><br/>Jayalalithaa's abode at Kodanadu was also not spared. Officials opened the locked house belonging to the family was also raided. Jaya TV founded by Jayalalithaa was a mouthpiece of the AIADMK. The TV channel runs news channel and entertainment channels. <br/><br/>TTV Dinakaran, the sidelined leader today said that this was a political act of revenge and he would face it legally.
