Tamil Nadu hikes MSP for paddy procurement

The minimum support price for paddy procurement in Tamil Nadu has been marginally increased. Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa has in a statement said that in addition to the minimum support price fixed by the Centre for the kharif season for common variety of paddy of Rs 1,410 per quintal, the state government would add Rs 50 more, bringing it to Rs 1,460. <br/><br/>The rate hike for Grade-A paddy would be Rs 70 per quintal, taking the minimum support price from Rs 1,450 to Rs 1,520. The revised prices come into effect from tomorrow.
