Tamil Nadu Govt starts implementation of Rs. 300-crore Rural Rejuvenation Scheme

In Tamil Nadu, the State Government has started implementing a Rs. 300-crore Rural Rejuvenation Scheme to ensure sustained economic growth in rural areas.<br />'' <br />'' The scheme had been announced taking into consideration the continued stoppage of various economic activity because of COVID-19 lockdown.<br />'' <br />'' Accordingly, each district in the state has been allocated around Rs. 10 crore to evolve development programmes taking into consideration the purely regional and local factors.<br />'' <br />'' Under the scheme, Cauvery Delta region districts have started planning largely agriculture oriented schemes.<br />'' <br />'' The loan-cum-subsidy rejuvenation scheme is turning beneficial to about 1,100 women members of Self-Help Groups who will be able to avail of a one time capital loan also.<br />'' <br />'' Various Farmers Production Centres, which play a vital role in the economy of the Delta region, also are being provided subsidy- cum-loans to kick start the farm to family agricultural economic chain of activity.<br />'' <br />'' In addition, about 200 labourers who had gone to other states for jobs and returned to their home states are also being helped under the rejuvenation scheme.<br />''
