Tamil Nadu govt plans to establish textiles city on outskirts of Chennai

<span style="color: #222222;">The Tamil Nadu Government is planning to establish a textiles city on the outskirts of Chennai. Making an announcement in the State Assembly on Thursday, the Handlooms and Handicrafts Minister R. Gandhi said, the Detailed Project Report for the textiles city will be prepared at a cost of one crore rupees. <br />''<br />''He said, the city will have all integrated facilities dealing with textiles marketing industry and the constituents of the textiles value chain. The Minister said, technical textiles manufacturing in the state will be promoted as they are of huge demand in defence, medical equipment and automobile industries. He said, a modern Textile Design Centre would be established in Chennai at a cost of ten crore rupees to study the evolving fashion trends and to make innovations in the product designs. He said, the centre would also serve as an international networking centre.</span><br />
