Tamil Nadu Govt enhances compensation for govt-recognised journalists died of COVID

Tamil Nadu Government has enhanced the compensation for government-recognised journalists who died of COVID in frontline duty from five lakhs to ten lakh rupees. In a statement issued yesterday, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has said that the one time incentive for journalists would be raised from 3,000 to 5,000 rupees.  <br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The State Government said that the journalists were working hard to create awareness of the pandemic to the public despite the threat of the pandemic looming large. The Government also decided to enhance the incentive and compensation to the recognised journalists, including photo journalists and cameramen attached to government approved print and electronic media. </span><br />
