<span style="color: #222222;">Tamil Nadu government has decided to execute a massive containment action plan against the novel coronavirus. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The State Health Secretary, Beela Rajesh told reporters last evening that the area under five kilometre radius from the residences of Covid-19 positive patients will be targeted. They will be notified as containment zones. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The field level health workers will visit every household in the zone from morning till evening today. They have been directed to screen all the people in the zone for symptoms like fever, cough or short breath. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Health Secretary said it will help assess the extent of the prevalence of the virus and to know if there is any community spread so that the strategies to tackle it could be revised. Those with fever, short breath and cough will be enlisted. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Others with co-morbidity like diabetes and hypertension, senior citizens and those taking immuno-suppressant medicines will also be enlisted. As they are vulnerable, they will be given masks and be asked to go into self-isolation. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">People identified with the symptoms for the virus will be further examined by doctors and admitted into the isolation wards in hospitals to contain the viral spread.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the Covid-19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu have gone up to 42 with four new cases reported yesterday. They include two with travel history to abroad. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports that in Tamil Nadu, the number of beds in isolation wards in government hospitals is seeing considerable expansion. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Two major hospitals, one each in Chennai and Coimbatore have been designated as exclusive Covid-19 treatment centres. In addition, the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai has made a facility with 200-beds to take in more patient load if necessary. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The nearby Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital is also in the process of setting up an exclusive Covid-19 treatment facility. The government has identified more people who returned from abroad who disembarked in other cities than those within the state and later came by bus or train. Therefore the number of people kept under quarantine in the state has gone up to over 43,500. </span><br />''  <br />
