Stalin said that Mahatma Gandhi who changed the history of India had taken a simple but historic decision to renounce his conventional attire to express solidarity with a simple peasant. Stalin said that the decision to change his appearance and strong will to fight for the freedom of India is to be remembered and honoured.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">The State Government held an exhibition at Madurai and Namakkal in remembrance of Mahatma's decision . State Minister for Commercial taxes, registration and Stamp law, P. Murthy, District Collector of Madurai, Aneesh Sekar and several members of the legislative Assembly garlanded the Mahatma Gandhi Statue. The event was also commemorated at Namakkal which was Gandhi's first meeting after his change in attire.</span><br />
