The total number of infections in the state has crossed 5.63 lakh as 5,692 people tested positive yesterday. They include 1005 in Chennai. The recoveries have reached more than 5.08 lakh.<br />''<br />''The Tamil Nadu Government has issued orders yesterday permitting students of the Tenth, Eleventh and the Twelfth classes to go to schools from the first of October.<br />''<br />''However, there would not be any regular classes, as the students can get, in the wordings of the order, only the guidance on the subjects from the teachers.<br />''<br />''The students have been grouped into two, and they are given the option to visit the schools alternatively from Monday through Saturday.<br />''<br />''Similarly, the teachers are also grouped into two bunches and each bunch will attend the schools two days in succession, leaving the next two days to the second bunch, to avoid crowding. The students are to be allowed only with the written consent of the parents. Six feet distance from each student is to be maintained inside the classrooms and all the prescribed safety protocols need to be followed. The formal reopening of the institutions is not yet decided in the present situation.</span><br />
