Tamil Nadu govt allocates over Rs 61 Cr for farming during ongoing Kuruvai season in Cauvery Delta districts

The Tamil Nadu Government has issued an order allocating over 61-crore rupees to give financial packages for farming during the ongoing Kuruvai season in the Cauvery Delta districts of the state. <br />''<br />''The package includes providing fertilizers like urea, Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and potash worth about 2500 rupees to the farmers for every acre with a hundred per cent grant.<br />''<br />'' For the paddy seeds, a fifty per cent subsidy will be given to the farmers. 2400 metric ton paddy seeds will be given to the farmers, says a release from the state agriculture department. There are also packages for the cultivation of oil seeds and legumes, and for the use of bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides. Mechanised farm equipment like tractors, tillers, harvesters and a host of other tools are planned to be given to the farmers with a 50-percent grant. <br />
